Barry was moving north-northwestward at 13 knots with maximum sustained winds estimated at
25 knots, gusts to 40 knots. The storm hit the western Florida Panhandle early Monday morning with
70 mph winds, a tidal surge of 4 to 5 feet, and heavy rainfall according to the National Weather Service.
Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said that about 34,000 customers in the region are without power as a result of the storm. Emergency officials in Franklin County, Florida issued a mandatory evacuation order on Sunday.
