The mountain top shown in the photos is home to 7 TV, and numerous other FM Radio and other types of broadcasters. The elevation is approx 3000 ft. Severe icing is a somewhat common occurance at this site. This can happen even with fog. There doesn't even have to be measurable precipitation. Needles to say, this causes frequent power outages, hence nearly all the facilitys on this mountain have backup generators, which run on a frequent basis. I am a transmitter engineer for a Fox TV affilliate in Roanoke, Virginia.
