The observation of a solar eclipse is one of the
most stunning experiences that one may encounter during their lifetime. The photo above depicts the annular solar eclipse which occurred on May 31, 2003 and, for some regions such as the Mediterranean, the eclipse was already in progress when the sun was rising a few minutes after 06:00 AM. The presence of low-level clouds made for an even more dramatic effect.
